I noticed that my sewing area is a near catastrophe this morning. Yesterday I explored an idea I had. It actually turned out well. I have a life time habit of throwing things around when I'm in create mode. Over a period of years I've gotten in the habit of cleaning my sewing area at least once a month; just so I will always have a rough idea of which area to look in for what I need. I've watched a plethora of sewing and craft shows and have convinced myself that craft experts are not always as neat as they appear to be on camera.
Because my sewing area used to be my dining room and because the rest of our home is now clutter free, it's no longer enough to just have things put away. I want order. I'm wondering if my creativity will be stifled if I establish order in my sewing area. That's what I've believed for a long time - that putting things away will hinder my creative bents. I'm going to try it any way. At worse I will know for sure that order and creativity are not close kins. At best, I will discover a mess free way of working and possibly become more productive too. Hopefully, orderly creations will become a new way for me to do things.
About to try,
Andrea
