Need some help?

Life is amazing to me.  The most fascinating aspect of life to me has to do with our interactions with one another.  Today I will offer my opinion about needing help.  I'll preface my opinion with a true story.  An actual occurrence that took place not long ago.

My husband and I were leaving one of his favorite markets on a very busy street.  We saw a man struggling to push his car by himself.  Being the people we are, I pulled over and my husband got out of the car to help him push.  I heard my husbands voice get louder and louder so I looked to see what was happening.  The owner of the vehicle got behind the steering wheel of his car and left my husband to push him and his car.  Me - well, I held my peace and walked up to the guy and told him to let me steer his car while he and my husband pushed it out of the center of the road.  No he said, just tell your husband to be careful not to scratch my car.   With that my husband and I both walked away leaving him to lure another sucker into his need for help.  (You all would have been so proud of me.  I did not use one superlative when I addressed the vehicle owner.)  (;^D)

When you need help, make sure you are helping others as they help you.  In that way you both can walk away satisfied - you because your need has been met, your rescuer because they got to be a good Samaritan and their service was not in vain.   I can only speak for myself; but I have a few friends who I would run to assist at the drop of a dime because they respect me; and genuinely appreciate any assistance they are given by anyone.  On the other hand, there are people I avoid like the plague.  Whenever they call, they want something, and no matter how much you do or give - it's never enough to satisfy them.

Last thing:  Do unto others as you would have them do onto you.

In joy,

Andrea
