Periodically I check myself by the activities that are transpiring all around me. Recently, I realized that I am more in tune with my life and surroundings that I realized. What a nice discovery. I also, finally, came to terms with the truth that it's ok if people I choose to love don't choose to love me back.
While I was counseling a young lady in her twenties, the words I spoke to her rang in my ears like the gong of a noon time coo coo clock. The quality of length of your life will probably be enhanced by letting go of people who don't respect you, honor you, consider you, love you, want you.... I know how hard it is to turn your back on people who we think the world of, I continued. But tell me, I asked, how great can that person really be if they can't see the magnificent worth in you? Also, how can you expect them to see it if you don't see it in yourself?
