"Can You Feel Me?"

"Can you feel me?" is  one of those rhetorical questions that I sometimes play with ideas about how it originated.  And I have a favorite idea - of course, and it goes like this:
Rghty and Lefty were having a conversation where Lefty assured Righty several times that he understood what she was trying to convey.  Buy Righty at some point said - No, you can't understand me because if you did you would xyz.  She continued that this is a situation that can not be intellectualized, you have to feel what I'm trying to convey to you.  When you can feel what I'm saying, she continued, then I'll know that you get it.  With that, Righty paused for a moment and asked "Can you feel me?"  Somehow everyone within ear shot of the conversation was drawn in by Righty's impassioned attempts to convey meaning.  From there everyone who "felt" her began to use that rhetorical question until it became the clichéd phrase that it is now.

I'm just sharing a thought,

Andrea
